PRPS 2024-2027 Strategic Plan 

PRPS is uniquely positioned to exert influence on behalf of its members and partners. This Plan addresses four broad issues that affect the recreation and park industry and its professional practices throughout Pennsylvania. The Plan articulates each issue, along with pertinent Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges. With input from PRPS members, partners and stakeholders, the Board of Directors determined specific strategies, with measurable outcomes, prime agents, priorities and timelines. Upon its successful implementation, PRPS will improve the overall capability of the profession’s delivery of its comprehensive, essential services throughout the state, benefitting all Pennsylvanians.

The Pennsylvania Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) is a strategic document that outlines the state's approach to outdoor recreation. It is designed to guide the development and enhancement of outdoor recreation resources, ensuring that Pennsylvanians have access to high-quality recreational opportunities. 

The plan assesses current outdoor recreation trends, identifies needs and priorities, and establishes goals for the future. SCORP serves as a blueprint for decision-makers, providing insights into resource allocation, program development, and policy initiatives to enhance the overall outdoor recreation experience in the state.

Recreation & Conservation Leadership Summit

Charting the Path Forward: The Summit's Vision for Pennsylvania's Recreation and Parks Industry. The Leadership Summit convened to establish bold direction and objectives for the future of the recreation, parks and conservation industry and professional practices in Pennsylvania. Through facilitated discussions of macro issues, summit attendees developed creative solutions, an action plan, and a shared vision for the coming seven years.
