MAKE AN IMPACT IN CHAMBERSBURG
Join the Borough of Chambersburg Recreation Department and help lead Recreation Programs, Sport Leagues, and the Chambersburg Aquatic Center. This department-level supervisory position supports safe, successful day-to-day operations and the hiring, training, and supervision of recreation and aquatic staff.
| KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage, develop, and supervise Recreation and Aquatic Programs. • Oversee daily operations of the Chambersburg Aquatic Center. • Serve as League Manager for sports leagues. • Lead hiring and training of seasonal Aquatic Center staff. • Supervise lifeguards, activity attendants, concessions, admissions, and membership staff. • Train and evaluate direct reports and make personnel recommendations. • Coordinate league scheduling, meetings, safety, records, and required reports. • Promote a healthy, positive, customer-focused work environment. | WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Associate's degree in Recreation, Sports Management, or related field. • CPO, First Aid, CPR, and Oxygen Administration certifications. • ServeSafe License. • 2–5 years of lifeguarding and lifeguard management experience. • Prior cash handling, recreation program, and supervisory experience. • Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and judgment skills. • Ability to work a flexible, year-round schedule including occasional evenings and weekends. • Bachelor's degree and recreation-related professional certification preferred. |
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to maintain required clearances.
• Residency within 15 driving miles of the Borough's corporate boundaries within one year of hire.
• Valid driver's license, three-year clean driving history, and insurability required.
• Must obtain and maintain required certifications and licenses where applicable.
