Put your maintenance skills to work in a job where your experience matters.

If you have a strong skilled trades background and like working with your hands, consider taking your experience to Old Economy Village. The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission is looking for a Facility Operations Supervisor to help maintain this unique historic site in Ambridge.

This is not a desk-bound supervisor position. You’ll stay hands-on while helping care for historic buildings, grounds, equipment, and physical systems. One day might involve carpentry or electrical work, while the next could mean plumbing, grounds maintenance, working with contractors, or preparing the site for a special event.

Your experience and judgment will be valued. You’ll work closely with management to plan maintenance projects, solve problems, and provide advice and recommendations on the site’s maintenance needs. You’ll have a voice in how work gets done while staying hands-on and putting your skills to use in a variety of ways.

What You’ll Do

You’ll perform and oversee maintenance work, plan and coordinate projects, supervise maintenance staff, work with outside contractors, and help keep the site safe, functional, and ready for visitors.

Do You Qualify?

You need:

  • Two years of skilled trades work experience in commercial, industrial, multi-unit residential facilities, or utility plant operations; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Two or more years of experience in each of these areas:
    • Carpentry and construction
    • Electrical maintenance
    • Plumbing maintenance
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.

Experience with lawn care, landscaping, snow removal equipment, HVAC, and fire/security systems is preferred but not required.

This is a full-time, on-site position working 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work for special events and operational needs.
