Dauphin County Parks and Recreation is looking for a creative, enthusiastic intern to assist with outdoor programs in a day camp setting at Wildwood Park and the Olewine Nature Center. Examples of outdoor program activities include hiking, teambuilding, kayaking, fishing and birding. In addition to camps, the intern will gain valuable experience with nature center operations and resource management. The intern will have time to work on a project of interest that aligns with their field of study.
- Candidates should have a strong desire to be outdoors and share their knowledge of and enthusiasm for the natural world with others. A background in education or the natural sciences is strongly encouraged
- Currently earning or possessing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Environmental Education, Environmental Science, Education, Parks and Recreation, Biology and/or related fields
- Strong interest in education, the environment and natural history
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
