SUMMARY:
Assist the Executive Director in the daily operations of all programs offered by the DARC. Helps to plan, administer, and coordinate a variety of indoor and outdoor recreation programs for all ages, including some special events, summer camps, athletic and fitness programs, health and wellness programs, adult and youth dance programs, as well as overseeing adult softball, basketball, and related sports leagues.
Summary of Essential Functions & Qualifications
Essential Functions:
-Develops and oversees community programs, special events, and recreation activities.
-Manages data entry, reports, and administrative tasks in recreation software.
-Provides customer service, addressing inquiries, complaints, and suggestions.
-Plans, implements, and supervises recreational and athletic programs.
-Recruits, trains, and supervises part-time and seasonal staff.
-Coordinates special events, handling vendor and partner collaborations.
-Maintains and orders program supplies and equipment.
-Prepares reports, grant proposals, press releases, and purchase orders.
-Manages social media, website updates, and marketing materials.
-Conducts site inspections to ensure safety and program quality.
-Sets up sports fields for recreational leagues.
-Builds community partnerships and solicits sponsorships.
-Oversees volunteers, ensuring proper training and background checks.
-Evaluates program effectiveness, making improvements as needed.
-Assists in budget preparation and administration.
-Adheres to DARC policies and completes assigned projects.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, or a related field.
-Valid PA driver’s license and ability to travel between sites.
-2+ years of experience in recreation, athletics, public parks, or related fields.
-Supervisory experience and work with school-age children preferred.
-Knowledge of summer camp programs is a plus.
-Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
-Experience with recreation software (MyRec preferred).
-Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
-Strong organizational and budgeting skills.
