CHAINSAW SAFETY AND DEMONSTRATION
Join us for a day outdoors focusing on equipment safety and proper chainsaw operations. Attendees will be guided through safe use and fundamental chainsaw techniques, including site inspection, starting practices, cut assessment, and best practices for on-site operation. This session will also feature hands-on opportunities to assess and make cuts. You will have the chance to use the saw and other related clearing equipment under the instructor's supervision.
•Participants who wish to try their skills need to bring their saws and personal protective equipment (PPE).
•It is recommended that participants watch the recorded Chainsaw Safety & Maintenance Webinar before attending the workshop (access supplied with registration).
* All participants can receive 5 Continuing Education Units (.5 CEUs).

OUR PRESENTER
Mike Powell is an Extension Educator in Agronomy and Natural Resources for Penn State Extension, serves as a Senior Research Specialist in Forest Resources and is the Pennsylvania chair of the American Tree Farm System (ATFS), managed by the Pennsylvania Forestry Association (PFA). He has been teaching and preaching about chainsaw safety for over 20 years.

CANCELLATION POLICY
PRPS will refund your registration, less a $25 processing fee, if your cancellation is received in writing more than 10 business days prior to the event. No refunds will be given for cancellations occurring less than 10 business days prior to an event. Substitute attendees are welcome in lieu of cancellations; please contact the PRPS office to arrange this.
