Join us for the 2025 Therapeutic Recreation Institute, a dynamic virtual event taking place from January 10 to 31, where we invite you to "Dive into the Five Domains" of therapeutic recreation. This year's program features a variety of engaging sessions designed to enhance your skills and expand your understanding of holistic approaches in the field. The Pennsylvania Therapeutic Recreation Institute (TRI) has provided quality education and training for Therapeutic Recreation Specialists and Activity Coordinators for over 50 years. The fee covers unlimited viewing of all recordings, CEU and NCTRC credits, and access to session materials and recordings through June 30, 2025.

Sessions and Schedule
The TRI features eleven educational sessions and an opportunity to earn up to 14.5 NCTRC credit hours (pending NCTRC approval). Sessions will cover a diverse range of topics and will be announced on this page and our TRI 2025 website as they are accepted. Current sessions include:

All sessions are scheduled during lunchtime for your convenience, allowing you to participate without disrupting your daily routine. All sessions will be recorded, providing access to valuable content until June 30, 2025. Additional keynote, endnote, and session information will be added soon!

Special Session
Join us as Pat Griffith presents: Chair Chi: Seated Tai Chi for the Movement Impaired Populations. Chair Chi is a gentle exercise program developed by Pat Griffith that brings the benefits of traditional Tai Chi directly to your chair! This innovative approach allows individuals who may have difficulty standing or lack confidence in their balance to participate comfortably and safely.
Pat Griffith, a certified Tai Chi Chuan instructor and the founder and President of Chair Chi, has been sharing his expertise since 1997. With a wealth of experience teaching at health clubs, senior and wellness centers, and senior facilities, Pat has also presented at local, state, national, and international seminars and demonstrations since 2010.
PRPS will refund your registration, less a $25 processing fee, if your cancellation is received in writing at least 10 business days prior to the event. No refunds/credits will be given for cancellations occurring less than 10 business days prior to an event. Substitute attendees are welcomed in lieu of cancellations; please contact the PRPS office to arrange this.
