10:00 General Session: Compassion Resilience: Compassion in Action in the Workplace
Compassion fatigue and resilience will affect you differently depending on your history, identity, and social position in your organization. Still, there are practical steps you can take to further your compassion—for self and others—as well as increase your resiliency to the inevitable stressors inherent in meaningful work: This is compassion in action.

This course will ground and inform perspectives about how individuals can start to build compassion resilience. It also offers a lens to deepen our knowledge of how to fuel the energy of a diverse staff that is stretched thin.

11:30 Business Meeting

12:30 Lunch

1:30 Breakout Sessions

Fridge or Feed? Rethinking Your Program Guide– Kelly McGinley
Program guides remain a vital tool for community engagement—but deciding between print, digital, or a hybrid approach raises important questions around cost, access, and impact. In this session, we’ll explore current trends and practical strategies to help you design a guide that meets your audience where they are, using the resources you already have. With interactive planning tools, you’ll assess your existing assets, tap into peer creativity, and uncover creative workarounds for common challenges. You’ll leave with an outline tailored to your goals—plus ideas for pitching small-scale funding support, expanding your network, and measuring what matters.

Ctrl+Alt+Park: Rebooting Your Department with Tech – Courtney Fox, CPRE
Gone are the days of paper logs lost in file folders. Learn how one parks and rec department is using technology to improve efficiency, reduce paper use, and make informed decisions. We’ll discuss tools like online staff logs, GIS asset maps, and QR code incident reports – and how they support planning and budgeting. We'll also cover tech for customer service, rentals, events, and staff management. No matter your tech experience, you'll walk away with fresh ideas worth downloading!

Lighting Projects Made Simple - Andrew O’Connell and Brise Bennett, Musco Sports Lighting
This session is aimed at all experience levels, from the first-time facilities operator to the 40+ year Recreation Director. The keys to a sports lighting project will unfold leaving the viewer with a safer space to play while boosting fan experience, the basics on retrofitting a sports lighting facility, and maximizing your facilities potential with advanced controls capabilities.
