Outdoor recreation offers tremendous public benefits, but also carries inherent risks of injury. Understandably, many landowners, including municipalities, counties and other government entities, worry about the liability that comes with opening their lands to the public. In this day and age, liability for incidents that occur on agency land is an ongoing concern.

Fortunately, Pennsylvania's Recreational Use of Land and Water Act ("RULWA") supports expanded recreational access by providing public and private landowners with meaningful protection. In this session, WeConservePA Legal Director Justin Hollinger will provide an overview of this and other key statutes and offer strategies to maximize protection and manage risk.
