Join us for this 6-week online, interactive course designed to assist Recreation and Park Professionals prepare for the Certified Park and Recreation Executive Examination. The CPRE is a standard for Executive-level/CEO positions and demonstrates leadership in all aspects of managing a park and recreation agency.

Description
Using NRPA’s Management of Park and Recreation Agencies Book, participants will come together in a cohort to review chapters, discuss materials, and study for the exam. Each week, we will focus on a specific task and key concepts to master, all of which are directly applicable to your role as a recreation and park professional. Sessions will include reviews, study exercises, discussions, practice questions, and testing strategies. All candidates will be prepared to take the CPRE examination at the end of the course, feeling confident and well-prepared for the challenges ahead.
Schedule
Each week, students will read and review a task grouping in the study guide. At the end of each week, a Zoom meeting will be held for the entire class to discuss and review the week's assignment. The instructor will be on hand to answer questions, guide discussions, and quiz participants, providing the support and guidance you need to succeed.

Who Can Register?
Professionals in the field who are interested in increasing their personal and professional knowledge and standing. Candidates must qualify according to one of the following standards.
Current CPRP or have held a CPRP certification within two years of the date of application for the CPRE; AND
•Master’s or higher degree and 3 years of professional full-time manager experience*; OR
•Bachelor’s degree from a program accredited by (COAPRT) and 4 years of professional full-time manager experience*; OR
•Bachelor’s degree with a major in recreation, park resources, or a related profession and 5 years of professional full-time manager experience*; OR
•Bachelor’s degree with a major other than recreation, park resources, or a related profession and 6 years of professional full-time manager experience; OR
•Associate degree and 8 years of professional full-time manager experience; OR
•High school diploma and 10 years of professional full-time manager experience*;
Instructor
Dan Hendey, PRPS's Senior Education Manager, is a CPRE and a certified Pennsylvania Instructor with over 20 years of experience in education. Dan studied and passed the exam in December of 2023 and has developed this course based on his experience. Dan has been teaching the CPRP With Me course since 2020, and his cohorts have combined for an outstanding success rate. In addition to teaching, Dan has worked extensively for recreation and non-profit organizations and has management experience in the competencies being assessed.

CPRE Cancelation Policy
PRPS will refund your registration, less a $25 processing fee, if your cancellation is received in writing before course materials are shipped (note: PRPS ships course materials as soon as they are received from NRPA and cannot guarantee shipping dates). After materials are shipped, cancellations are subject to an additional fee of up to 90 (depending on the type of material ordered).
