Navigating Conflict in Parks and Recreation: Strategies for Resolving Disputes and Building Understanding
Conflict is an inevitable part of the Parks and Recreation profession, especially in today’s complex social climate. This interactive discussion will explore real-world examples and current societal challenges that lead to conflicts with patrons, staff, elected officials, and other stakeholders. Attendees will explore effective strategies to navigate these conflicts while maintaining positive relationships; and, in some cases turn a negative situation into a positive one. Additionally, participants will have the chance to share their own experiences both before and during the program, fostering a relatable and immersive experience. Join us for an engaging workshop that equips you with practical tools for managing conflict through intentional communication and service practices within your organization.

Breakout 1 - Graphic Design for Non Graphic Designers
You do not need to be a graphic designer to create visually compelling communication materials. In this hands-on session, you will learn how to use Canva to enhance your flyers, social media graphics, and other publicity items. Bringing a fully charged device (laptop preferred, but a smartphone or tablet will work) is recommended so you can follow along.

Cancellation and Refund Policy
PRPS will refund your registration, less a $25 processing fee, if your cancellation is received in writing at least 10 business days prior to the event. No refunds/credits will be given for cancellations occurring less than 10 business days prior to an event. Substitute attendees are welcomed in lieu of cancellations; please contact the PRPS office to arrange this.
