Because of recent events, the cloak under what we called “normal” has been torn away and is likely gone forever. However, the past’s “normal” may have worked for some but wasn’t all that great for others. Excessive entitlement, greed, self-interest, unsustainable growth, inequities in public services, and more have led us to a place where we might wonder whether “normal” was best. COVID-19 and civil unrest has provided just the opportunity we’ve needed to review, re-think and rewind when it comes to spending choices, management methods, and how we facilitate and provide park and recreation services. In this webinar, Jamie will review and analyze pre and post-pandemic realities, Identify deficiencies in our current park and recreation operations, and provide participants with solid ideas for transforming your agency.
Jamie Sabbach, President and CEO of 110% Inc., has taught hundreds of professional development and training programs across the globe and has testified in front of the US Congress on the critical importance of public lands and recreation. She believes society should be fueled by “anger and love” to do what may not be popular, but what may be necessary. Jamie is an active member of the National Recreation and Park Association, having served in a variety of leadership capacities during her career. She is a past President of the American Park and Recreation Society and in 2008 was inducted as a Fellow into the American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration.
