2023 Shop Talk - Guidelines for Justifying Operations Budgets

The third quarter of 2023, Shop Talk will dig deeper into aspects of financial management. For our July session, we invited Tom Diehl and Jeffrey Milkes with BerryDunn, to share their perspective into how public servants can best utilize data to help justify operations budgets. Participants will: 1. Gain perspective into municipal government strategy 2. Identify stakeholders that need to be involved with financial planning 3. Learn common metrics used to measure operational efficiencies 4. Identify key indicators that "tell stories" and assist with staff and community engagement
