Learn how Berks County Parks & Recreation Department works with local partners for some creative program ideas. This workshop will give you the insights to growing strong partnerships, and how to navigate the needs of each. *Hint-Hint take-away some cool program ideas you can use in your own community!

Centre-ing Our Community One Step at a Time
Addressing the needs of their communities’ health through outdoor activities, Centred Outdoors, a project of Clear Water Conservancy and Mount Nittany Health, aims to connect neighbors to their natural surroundings. Dan Trew and Jeannine Lozier will discuss the community health needs assessment and methods they are taking to improve our outlook of the region and to reach the goals set forth in Healthy People 2020.

How to use Social Media Effectively
When used effectively, social media can help organizations highlight their work, engage supporters, advertise events, raise money, and reach new audiences. But for many people, the world of social media may seem confusing or downright intimidating (what exactly is a hashtag?). In this session, you’ll learn how to choose the right platform(s), create posts that get noticed, make time for social media, and more. There will be lots of time for questions and discussion.
