Schedule

8:30am – 9:00am            Arrival, registration, and AM refreshments

9:00am – 9:15am             Introductions, opening remarks, and agenda overview

9:15am – 10:45pm            Equipment safety, proper handling, and overview

Nick Joensen, Technical Sales Specialist at STIHL, USA will present on chainsaw safety and offer equipment demonstration as we begin to identify trees, brush, and undergrowth that needs removed from the surrounding landscape

10:45am – 12:00pm         Chainsaw safety and equipment best practices

Mike Powell from Penn State University will offer equipment support and offer critique to help participants improve chainsaw handling and proper cutting technique as we begin cutting, clearing, and preparing materials for the chipper

12:00pm – 1:00pm            Catered Lunch and networking

1:00pm – 2:00pm             Chipper safety overview - more cutting, chipping, and clean-up

After a brief safety orientation on a new piece of equipment, participants will get back to work clearing brush, and helping with trail maintenance to round out the afternoon

2:00pm                              Wrap up and Dismiss
