DirectorJOB SUMMARY: Administers all facets of a multiple-community recreation consortium. Responsible for managing 2 full time staff, numerous contractors, part time and seasonal program personnel. Works with staff to develop and implement community-responsive recreation programs, policies, events and partnerships. Coordinates with members of the consortium for program offerings and events. Maintains communications and leverages opportunities for best use of space, facilities and other assets to meet consortium needs. Reports directly to the Board of Directors. QUALIFICATION: TRAINING and EXPERIENCE Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Sport or Leisure Management, Public Administration (or closely related field) from an accredited 4 year college or university. A Master's degree or other further education is desirable. Four years of experience in the area of recreation management. Specific experiences with public and municipal organizations is desirable. Two years of most recent work experience to include: supervisory responsibilities; budget development; and program evaluation. SKILLS and ABILITIES: • Familiarity with electronic systems designed for program registration and tracking. • Understanding and experience with budgeting, billing and financials. • Competent use of social media for program promotion and communication. • Select, train, motivate and supervise staff effectively. • Prepare and present clear, concise oral and written reports. • Conduct research, analyze information and make recommendations. • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with consortium members. • Develop marketing and advertising strategies. SALARY RANGE: $50,000 - $60,000 plus benefits commensurate with experience.
