The program provides the opportunity to develop skills, progress in golf and have fun while establishing a life-long interest in the game. There is also a matching grants program, funded by the USGA, that is available to help with the costs associated with additional programming. Special Programs

Pennsylvania Youth Track & Field Program

The Pennsylvania Youth Track & Field Program is designed to introduce children age 9-14 to physical fitness through basic track and field events including running, jumping, and throwing.  The program focuses on getting and keeping school-age children active and healthy, with an emphasis on fun and good sportsmanship.

Park and recreation departments, schools, and civic organizations organize local meets, which are open to all youth, regardless of ability level or special need. There is no cost to the participant. Winners of local meets progress to one of three district meets, then to the state finals held at the Penn State University track, in State College. Events include: Softball Throw, Standing Long Jump, 50 M. Dash, 100 M. Dash, 200 M. Dash, 400 M. Dash, 800 M. Run, 1600 M. Run, and 4x100 M. Relay.
